Send to Lawyer

A packet sent as an email from your own account.

For you and the lawyer. Don’t mail it into a jail: mail inside is opened and read.

This puts everything in one packet: the journal, the photos of the papers, a link to the video, and a statement about who filmed it. You send it from your own email. Nothing passes through us.

There is no rush. Step 6 comes first: decompress. Don’t hire a lawyer the same night.

1 What is in the packet

  • The journalThe six steps with their times, what is missing, what is broken, and your notes.
  • The papersEach photo, with the four things marked and a fingerprint for each original.
  • A link to the videoThe video itself is too big for email. It stays in your own cloud account.
  • Who filmed itA short statement naming the person who filmed it, with the video’s fingerprint.

Put the original video in your own cloud account, like Google Drive or iCloud. Share it with the lawyer only, then paste the link here.

Copy the link from your cloud app’s Share button. Only the lawyer should be able to open it.

3 Who filmed it

A lawyer needs to know who made the video and how. Tick only what is true.

Read it out loud. Change anything that isn’t exactly true. It is a starting point, not a sworn statement.

5 Send it from your own email

Nothing you put in here leaves this phone unless you send it yourself.

Educational information from a paralegal, not legal advice. Talk to a lawyer about your own case.
