No accounts, no ads, no tracking. What you type into a checklist, a tool or the app stays on your phone.

Print this. Copy it. Mail it to someone inside. That’s what it’s for. Just don’t sell it.

How to mail it inside, and what the mailroom rejects

The short version

  • AccountsNone. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.
  • TrackingNone. No analytics, no advertising code, no cookies.
  • Your notesKept on your phone only. We never receive them.
  • Our serverKeeps standard visit logs, like every website. See section 4.

1 Checklists and tools

When you tick a box on a checklist, the tick is saved in your browser, on that phone or computer only, so it is still there when you come back. Nothing is sent to us. “Clear ticks” under any list removes them, and so does clearing your browser’s data for this site.

The calculators work the same way. They run in your browser. They never ask for a name or a case number, and nothing you enter leaves your phone.

2 The search journal app

The search journal has no login, no server storage, no AI and no tracking. Your video, photos and notes are kept in your phone’s browser storage, on that phone only. We can’t see them, and we couldn’t hand them to anyone if we were asked, because we never have them.

  • Sending is up to you. When you send a packet to a lawyer, it goes from your own email account. Videos go through your own cloud storage. Nothing passes through us.
  • The fingerprint is made on your phone. The SHA-256 fingerprint of a video is worked out on the phone itself. The video is never uploaded to do it.
  • Anyone holding the phone can open it. Use the PIN lock in the app’s Help screen.
  • Back it up. If the phone is lost, taken or wiped, or the browser’s data is cleared, the journal is gone. Help shows how to back it up to your own cloud, and how to erase everything when you want to.

3 Email to us

If you email us, we get your address and what you wrote, and we use them only to answer you. An email to us is not protected the way a talk with a lawyer is, so please don’t send facts about a case.

4 What our server sees

Like every website, the server that hosts this one keeps standard logs of visits: the internet address a visit came from, the page, the browser and the time. They are used to keep the site running and safe. We don’t sell them, and we don’t use them to work out who anyone is.

Some pages link to Amazon for the books, and to courts and government sites for the rules. Those sites have their own privacy rules. Our Amazon links are plain links: they carry no tracking code from us.

If anything here changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top changes with it.
