BOP Inmate Locator
Redesigned for normal people, not backwards like the BOP.
Search by name. You don't need a register number. Then get everything in one place: the right mailing address, how to send money and books, the visiting form, and what is happening at their prison today. Nothing you type here is saved.
About this search
This tool asks the Federal Bureau of Prisons' own public inmate locator, then adds what the BOP doesn't show you in one place. It only finds people in BOP custody. Someone recently arrested is usually held by the US Marshals in a county or private jail, and the Marshals have no public inmate search. If that's your situation, use our US Marshals office lookup.
We don't keep your searches or the results. Close this page and they're gone. Print the result if you want to keep it.
